  • Try to clear your mind of problems once you’re in bed.
  • Avoid eating/watching TV in bed.

  • After 7pm, avoid food and drinks with caffeine or sugar.
  • Stick to a consistent schedule for going to bed/waking up.
  • Sleep in a comfortable, quiet and dark place.
  • About 3 hours before bedtime, avoid physical or strenuous activities.

For sleep apnea, a CPAP mask or a mouthpiece may be recommended. Both methods can be effective in helping keep the airways open during sleep to help you have uninterrupted rest.
